Location

The position is located in Lenexa, KS or Oak Ridge, TN.

Responsibilities

  • Perform integrated engineering analyses to fulfill project requirements and achieve target dates.
  • Author and review designs, specifications, analyses, and drawings in compliance with engineering principles and applicable standards.
  • Prepare and review design concept drawings and models for equipment using input from various technical disciplines.
  • Recognizes, defines, and resolves problems within assigned area.
  • Compliance with strict quality assurance standards and on-time delivery.
  • Travel (less than 25% of time).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited, four-year university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design for mid-level; Minimum of 15 years of design experience for senior level.
  • Professional engineering license is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes.
  • Familiarity with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and other applicable industry codes and standards for the design and procurement of nuclear-grade equipment.
  • Proficiency in working with 3D models and Bentley AutoPipe software for analyzing piping systems and applied loading conditions.
  • Knowledge of engineering design practices and principles (e.g. design checking and verification, interference checks, tolerance stack-ups, equipment space envelopes, GD&T).
  • Experience working with engineers and fabricators to develop designs and drawings.
  • Experience in the preparation and review of PFDs, P&IDs, piping isometric drawings, pipe support details, and General Arrangement drawings for piping systems and equipment packages.
  • Excellent attention to detail and capability for producing error-free documents.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
